I was having troubles getting denyhosts to send notifications of IP's added to hosts.deny as well. I could see that hosts.deny was being added to in the denyhosts log, as well as seeing that the hosts.deny file was being written to.
After much frustration (I had this working before I changed Linux ditributions), I found/recalled that my ISP (Cox) blocks port 25. I have been able to get it working, but only by setting it to use the cox smtp server, in my case, smtp.central.cox.net and port 25. > Message: 3 > Date: Wed, 1 Aug 2007 09:01:48 -0700 > From: Marconi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [Denyhosts-user] Send a Test Admin Email? > To: denyhosts-user@lists.sourceforge.net > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; > format="flowed" > > How can I force the sending of an email by denyhosts > to the admin > email address?
