I've had denyhosts working for many moons. Once in a great while it dies
and a cron job I've created notifies me that var/log/denyhosts hasn't
been updated in over an hour, in which case I restart the daemon.
Starting last night, it is dying consistently on its first attempt to
parse /var/log/secure and update /etc/hosts.deny. I've enabled debug
mode, but can't figure out why it's dying. Here is what was logged on
the most recent attempt...

I've searched for '1Sat Aug 30 09' in /var/log/secure* and
/etc/hosts.deny - nothing.

I haven't changed DH's configuration file in eons. I'll be happy to post
relevant parts of it if need be.

I'm running DH on CentOS4...

[EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# denyhosts.py --version
DenyHosts version: 2.6

If anyone can give me a cluestick of what I need to examine, that would
be most appreciated.

thanks,
Sandy
