Derby Build Failure

Hi,       Im new to Derby and the Apache development process. I downloaded and attempted to run a build tonight. I encountered an error in the code. However, I'm not sure if this is my fault or the code. The problem occured in a file org.apache.derbyBuild.splitmessages on the String s. Has anyone else had this problem? There isnt any error checking in the source however, I could be feeding the wrong input?   Brian
