The biggest issue for me would be to ensure that all IP issues have been resolved. When I last looked there were still some files that contained IBM style licenses which I believe should be replaced with the Apache license before a release is cut - if this is has been done and I missed it, please accept my apologies.
Once that has been done then I agree, release early. -- Jeremy
