Any committer who does apply a patch is required to e-mail to the list
and the originator of the patch, the fact that the patch was applied.

Does this seem reasonable to folks?



All committers should be watching svn commit emails whether they go to the dev list or a separate list and that is enough notice for changes initiated by a committer. It's a good policy to respond to a contributed patch by a non-committer in the original thread and is especially necessary if the dev list is not the svn list.
