Hello Kathey, I will definitely run the patch past my tests. Should I apply the patch to the 28-April 10.1 alpha build available on the website?
Regarding contributing my tests, I have no problem as such except that my tests are very simple and unscientific - they are designed to check features/assumptions that I have so far found problematic. Don't know if they will really add any value. You can have look at: https://simple-jta.dev.java.net/source/browse/simple-jta/test/src/org/simplejta/tests/xa/ I think to be useful, the tests would need some work.
