As for your question about how this ties in to 370, this section will be added as a subtopic to the current section "Differences between running Derby in embedded mode and using the network server". Currently, this section has other subtopics, such as Isolation level (which my patch erases), setting the port number, and error messages. In addition, the patch for derby-370, which is currently awaiting approval, will add another subtopic alongside this one that will describe the updatable result sets differences.
