Thanks Knut. I am going to see if I can create a stress condition that will get this to happen with more regularity so that we might be able to reproduce the problem and try to verify if the patch takes care of this.

The patch hasn't been committed to any branch yet. I think the patch should be safe, so I'll refresh it and commit it to trunk so that it may be included in 10.10. -- Knut Anders
