Oops, I somehow missed that comment when I read through the new comments on
this issue today. Looks like you've got this one under control, then. :)

I was thinking what if we changed the init() method of this node type to take
an extra parameter with the value of the field. Then it would be impossible to
create a new instance without at least having considered what value to put into
that field. That'd probably make it less likely to be missed.
