Myrna van Lunteren commented on DERBY-5195:
-------------------------------------------
I have been composing a wiki page regarding database corruption, in which I am
mentioning the tools, so I've been experimenting with them.
I think these tools are useful, and I think it makes sense to put them in the
source tree somewhere so other changes don't break them. However, I don't think
we'd want to actually 'support' them as we do other tools. Useful as they may
be, they're not a solution to a scenario that causes corrupted databases. Plus
we'd have to add tests and we'd have an increased responsibility to fix any
problems. So I'd like these to be in some unusual place. Some dir called misc,
maybe?
> Create tools for browsing the files in the database log directory.

> It would be nice to have some tools to examine the contents of the log
> directory. The tools should be able to read the files in that directory
> without disturbing them.
