No good deed will go unpunished. Since you were kind enough to commit 
the original patch, could you also commit this fix to the javadoc generator?

The patch to bug 587 introduced generic-bearing signatures which can 
only be compiled in jdk1.5 or higher. Unfortunately, this broke javadoc 
generation. I have clipped to bug 587 a patch which fixes javadoc 
generation. Would appreciate a committer's attention.
