Resolution: Won't Fix
This issue was logged because there was a concern when latching was moved out
of the lock manager, that it would be more difficult to debug Derby bugs that
caused deadlocks involving both locks and latches. Since the lock manager no
longer knows about latches, it cannot report such deadlocks as deadlocks, and
it cannot report the wait cycle.
Latching has not been done as part of the lock manager for a very long time
now, and I cannot recall any issue where a latch VTI would have been useful for
debugging. I think it is unlikely that such a VTI will be added, so I close the
issue as Won't Fix. Feel free to reopen it if you think it would be useful.
