Making the beans self-describing sounds like a great idea. I did a quick search
on the internet and found this article, which describes a way to do it:
https://weblogs.java.net/blog/emcmanus/archive/2005/07/adding_informat.html. It
looks a bit more complex than I thought it would be, though.
