That seems like a very practical approach. As you observe, we already follow 
this convention,
so extending it seems reasonable. And it seems like a simple and incremental 
change which
makes good progress.

Unless you're already doing so, I'll look into implementing this approach for 
the DRDA messages
as you suggest, running some tests, and moving forward with this plan if I 
don't encounter
any problems.
