I'm a little bit confused by the description of Skipping columns versus skipping lines, but I believe I understand your idea; it sounds good.
I'm not quite certain about the implications of Adding a new argument to the system catalog Procedure. We may have to do something Special to handle upgrades; we may also have To investigate backward compatibility. Perhaps there is a way to make optional arguments On system procedures, that might allay many of The interoperability issues. But those details can be deferred until later; I think For now it is best just to pursue the basic approach And see how well it works. Thanks, Bryan
