Derby Server and Administration Guide - Managing the Derby Network Server
remotely by using the servlet interface (II)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: DERBY-1300
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-1300
Project: Derby
Type: Improvement
Components: Documentation
Versions: 10.1.2.3
Environment: DITA-sourced documentation
Reporter: Halley Pacheco de Oliveira
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 10.1.2.3
I think it would be good to add this sentence to the note already existent in
this page:
When the Network Server is started by the servlet interface, shutting down the
Application Server also shuts the Network Server down, once both run in the
same JVM.
It occurred with Tomcat and took me by surprise. It is natural, but I wasn't
expecting it to happen.
Also "Web server" was changed to "Application Server" for the servlet.
