The derby logging properties such as derby.language.logStatement text are hard
to find in the documentation
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: DERBY-1570
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-1570
Project: Derby
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Documentation
Affects Versions: 10.1.2.1
Reporter: Kathey Marsden
Priority: Minor
I often see questions like How do I turn on logging or tracing for Derby. I
want to log statements or locks, query plans or something else. This came up
on derby-user on this thread:
http://www.nabble.com/Logging-tf1981511.html
Unfortunately the documentation for Derby properties does not give a hit on
logging or tracing, diagnostics, configuration, or trace,
Maybe these properties could be presented better in the documentation and a
diagnostics section would be most helpful but a quick fix for 10.2 might be to
add a sentence with the key words to.
http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.1/tuning/ctunproper22250.html
Instead of
"This chapter includes all the core Derby properties."
We could have.
"This chapter includes all the core Derby properties. The Derby properties are
used for system and database configuration as well as diagnostics such as
logging statements, and monitoring and tracing locks."
That would give us hits on the important key words.
