Kim Haase commented on DERBY-2441:
----------------------------------
Is the documentation in this location
(http://db.apache.org/derby/manuals/reference/sqlj66.html#NULLIF+and+CASE+expressions)
still being maintained? This is the 10.0 documentation. I believe this problem
has been dealt with in the current doc -- see
http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/dev/ref/, specifically "NULLIF expressions"
under "Built-in functions":
http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/dev/ref/rrefcasenullif.html.
> The documentation for NULLIF could be improved
> ----------------------------------------------
>
> Key: DERBY-2441
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-2441
> Project: Derby
> Issue Type: Task
> Components: Documentation
> Affects Versions: 10.3.0.0
> Reporter: Kathey Marsden
> Priority: Trivial
>
> The documentation for NULLIF could be improved as it doesn't explain what
> NULLIF does at
> http://db.apache.org/derby/manuals/reference/sqlj66.html#NULLIF+and+CASE+expressions
> I believe the behaviour is that if both arguments are equal it returns NULL
> otherwise it returns the first value
> e.g.
> NULLIF(L, R)
> is equivalent to:
> CASE WHEN L=R THEN NULL ELSE L END
