Somehow missed the earlier questions.
1 - A is correct, the feature is supported, but through JDBC method calls and
not using SQL.
2 - Yes, "date and time data types" works for the second section
3 - Correct
4 - The "IBM specific syntax" should be removed. Derby has partial support for
this feature, with DECLARE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE
