There is also a recent contribution in the form of an uncommitted patch, which may interest you: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-2798 "A new approach for main-memory database" I have not looked at it yet, so I can't vouch for it. Apparently it is still proof-of-concept code. Dag
