Hi All,

I am working on Derby DB.

Could you please let me know whether Derby supports BLOB and CLOB objects and also provide where will I get POC for supporting BLOB object using derby and how much data will be able to maintain(Eg:Howmuch size of data keep into the Derby).

Hi Srinivas,

The large object types, BLOB and CLOB, are described in the Derby Reference Guide, in a section titled "Data types": http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.3/ref/

Why it is throwing SQL exception while successfully shutting down the derby.( due to this when i shut down the derby using ant script its displaying a message BUILD FAILED instead of BUILD SUCCESSFUL message).

Without knowing the particular exception you're seeing, it's hard to say what's going on here. However, you may be encountering the fact that a successful shutdown of Derby always raises a SQLException which basically says that your shutdown in fact worked. This behavior is described in the Derby Developer's Guide in a section titled "Shutting down the system": http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.3/devguide/

Hope this helps,
-Rick

I would look forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,
