I wasn't so sure where to hang it in the code where it would make sense, 
especially after
the change was made,  so I added a short summary to copyTypesAndLengthsToSource 
and referenced the full document.  Where in the code would be a good place to 
put it?  I could add it as 
part of the commit log or ...
