Myrna van Lunteren commented on DERBY-4019:
-------------------------------------------

I tried a run on z/OS of just the failing replication tests, and then of the
replication suite...First with ibm15, and everything passed, then with ibm16
and the ReplicationRun_Local test passed in both cases, but instead, the
following test failed:
1) testReplication_Local_1_InsertUpdateDeleteOnMaster

(org.apache.derbyTesting.functionTests.tests.replicationTests.ReplicationRun_Local_1)

java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: A network protocol error was
encountered and the
connection has been terminated: the requested command encountered an
unarchitected and
implementation-specific condition for which there was no architected message

I don't think the reported failure is a problem that's specific to z/OS.
The replication tests fail regularly in a variety of ways... It's very
frustrating, and at the same time, risky because we can't quickly differentiate
between false failures and real ones.

However, I do think there is still not encoding-safe usage in the superclass
ReplicationRun, in all the processOutput methods - see my comment in
DERBY-1256. But it looks like that's not actually affecting the test run on
z/OS...
