I'm attaching another log to this issue. The NPE can be reproduced by just
running AuthenticationTest.
It also needs to be said that the patch at
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12413462/derby-4053_diag_diff.txt
is needed to make the error visible.
