There is this Community Development Meetup planned for Monday at
ApacheCon I don't think there is any conference registration needed to
attend this. Also I am trying to set up a BarCamp session to talk about
introducing an Apache mentoring program for Monday, but am told I need
to just show up Monday morning and propose my session so we will see.
I hope some folks from Derby can attend.

At BarCampApache [1] we will be holding a Meetup up. This will happen
on the afternoon of Monday 2nd Nov. The purpose of the meetup is to
discuss what a proposed community development/community outreach group
within the ASF might do. Primarily this will build on the work done in
the name of GSoC and GHOP, it will also consider a proposal for an
ongoing ASF mentorship program.
The reason for posting here is that the session is not limited to
these types of community development, anything that has volunteers to
drive it forwards would be welcome to the table.
The [email protected] list has not really gone anywhere, but maybe this is
another chance to look at the lack of female representation here at
the ASF. If anyone wants to join us to explore ideas please come
along.
