Is there a jvm option or quick way to disable driver auto loading?

I was wondering if there is a JVM option or quick way to disable jdbc  
driver auto loading. This would be for use at user sites where they have 
issues with the interaction of auto loaded Drivers (e.g. DERBY-4688),
