nightly tests with ibm jvms saw this type of failure once more, same machine,
also 10.6.2.3 branch, built at revision #103 2198, same sort of errors, same
jvm version (ibm 1.6, sr8) on November 6. It could be some kind of network
flux, but hard to tell at this time.
