Thanks for spotting that howler, Knut. It turns out that the error handling was 
equally goofy in the embedded case. Attaching 
derby-4869-03-aa-rs-getObject-errorCleanup.diff. This patch corrects the error 
messages returned when coercion errors occur in ResultSet.getObject(int,Class). 
Committed at subversion revision 1052044.
