I forgot to mention that although there is no actual regression test, the tests 
run at Sun (that's what is still on the web sites) do compare the overall size 
of derby.jar, see for instance: 
http://dbtg.foundry.sun.com/derby/test/tinderbox_trunk16/jvm1.6/testing/Limited/index.html.
