Hello Ambili,

I tried your script on a z/os machine I have access to but not HFS, (changing 
the database name to a local db and removing the extraneous single quote) and 
was able to reconnect and recover.  

Is it possible HFS has some extreme write caching? Can you post the resulting 
corrupt database?
