Look like the thread's interrupted flag has been lost here somewhere. Didn't we 
see this on (some) IBM JVMs in the past? The flag is/should be resurrected when 
throwing 08000. Most likely it has been, but it lost during the ensuing lines 
"c = thisConf.openDefaultConnection(); s = c.prepareStatement(pStmtText)" 
somehow.
