Hi Steffen,
How did you get DatabaseMetaData.getSearchStringEscape() to return "\" ? For
both the embedded and client drivers, that method returns the empty "" string
for me. Its value is hardcoded to be "" by
org.apache.derby.impl.jdbc.EmbedDatabaseMetaData.getSearchStringEscape().
