In the derby thread some time ago
http://old.nabble.com/Bug-with-http-sub-protocol--td31889839.html it came to
light that the Derby http and https sub protoocols are not documented and
behave oddly.
We should decide on a definitive format behavior for these sub protocols, test
and document the feature.
