I'm resurrecting the topic that tapered off right before the holidays.
The start of that discussion is at
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/db-derby-user/200512.mbox/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
.
Here's my succinct summary (anyone should feel free to add details):
(1) Roger Dudler offered to help us produce a final logo in various
sizes that will also work for the web site. DERBY-747 at
http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-747 is the Jira issue we're
using for managing drafts.
(2) The wording that went with the logo with text at
http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12321023/derby_with_text.jpg
can't be used as is because of the use of "Java". Dan Debrunner and
Craig Russell voiced the strongest concerns about nailing down the text
as well as the look of the text.
(3) For the web site, Jean Anderson voiced strong preferences for
continuing to include the DB project logo in the masthead to maintain
that clear affiliation.
Here's the last sample I did for the web site:
http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12321539/masthead_derby5.png
The derby logo is a little blurry because I cut&pasted it from
http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12321532/masthead_derby2.png
. When people provide feedback, Roger can produce a crisp final.
With that, I'd like to kick off another round of logo discussions. It
would be nice to get this finalized so we can incorporate it into the
web site, derby docs, etc.
regards,
-jean
