Hi: I figured out my problem. It seems that from within an Applet Derby creates a database in a folder. In my case, my desktop.
>From within a stand alone Java application, Derby apparantly creates it in a DIFFERENT directory. I can't find the second one. BUT I made the applet create a record in Profiles and was able to retrieve it from the Applet. WHEW!!! It was reading the database, just a different database. Marl K.
