Hi,
I'm running Derby 10.1.3.1 from within Eclipse 3.2 (using the
plugins from the Apache Derby Website). I'm trying to connect
to the database (after adding a nature and starting up the
Network Server on 1527) using SQLExplorer and IBM Cloudscape
Workbench, but in every occasion I'm getting this error:
Communication error has been detected....TCP/IP SOCKETS
I've included the full trace.log that I generated from the
connection string.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi David -
Not sure if this is your issue but thought it worth a mention that you
should use Eclipse 3.2.1 or higher due to a bug that was fixed in that
release. This post talks more about the problem:

Here's an excerpt (post date: 7/23/06):
The *eclipse* issue that the
ContextFinder can enter in infinite loop while delegating to other
classloaders has been resolved, so marking this fixed. I am not
marking a fix version as it is an *eclipse* fix for a regression *3.2*.

Currently the fix is not available in an official release. When
*eclipse* *3.2*.1 is released, people encountering the problem can
upgrade. In the interim people could grab the osgi bundle from the
build leading to *3.2*.1.
