You have to use something like this:
if(embeddedConn != null)
embeddedConn.close();
try
{
// shutdown Derby Network Server
*DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:derby:;shutdown=true");*
}
catch(SQLException se)
{
//ignore se
}
Just create a connection with a "jdbc:derby:;shutdown=true" url
