Bryan Only four records in my 4,100 records have the same date field but the time field for each of these four records is 0, 6, 12, and 18 respectively.
Therefore I believe my key is unique. In addition, it is 'natural' which is much more useful to me when I read the data And so, I still have my original question................... Why does my code not pick up the true 'oldest' record ????
