I think these are good ideas, Oku! I like the symbolic icon in the time one, and the map is a nice affordance in the country / language selection. However! Country borders can be politically-charged and since they change over time it might be pretty difficult to maintain. Maybe we could do them at a continent or at least larger-than-country expanse of area though.
