While this is a good discussion to have, this should not be a priority. Of all the issues we have to discuss, the benefits of nailing this down and implementing it doesn’t outweigh the time to perform UX testing to see if it was a success; this is especially true when looking at topics like LibO's UI, icon issues, Default settings, and so on.

Things I really like about this article is to ask fundamental questions ... although there are examples that things went wrong on some of the systems mentioned. For example, the Android system tries to care about system resources in a way, that "Quit" isn't required. But reality shows, that people install task managers (Google added one in the meantime) to get rid of "bad" programs. Concerning LibreOffice, the analysis isn't complete. Two things to add: * The "Start Module" is required on MacOS X to select the application to start (StartCenter). There, we lack the dedicated application starter icons we have on Windows or on Linux - this conforms to the Mac platform requirements. * The behavior of the "Start Module" can be set to close LibreOffice if the last document has been closed. Thus, no need for an explicit "Quit" - although the menu item is still there. Spec at [1]. Well, the open issues can be solved - of course (maybe requiring some additional effort to respect some platform specific behavior). But, this issue is currently of rather low importance to me. Other thoughts?
