It stands for the SVG file format, no it has not text, that is the logo.
Explanations will be part of the insert.

Thanks. It's a shame that the icon doesn't come with a small "svg"
descriptor attached to it. Would it not be better to include an icon
like the one found on the top of the svg website page
(http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/)? Then all icons would be readily
identifiable regardless of the insert.
