Hear hear (for the ones who hadn't heard it already),
The upcoming 3.7 branch will actually be our 4.0. This will give you an
overview of the expected changes :

And it also gives you a hint of what UI changes you may want to push for
the release.
The purpose of my mail was however to:
* make you aware of these news
* suggest we restart a splashscreen contest for the 4.0
* anything UIish and nice-looking you would have in mind for the
4.0 is welcome.
