It is not that easy to add text slides later in case of 2 Images and 4 images per slide. For example there are 6 images and the desired layout is the following: [1] [2] [4] [5] [3] [ ] [6] [ ] It is easy to do with "text slides" but hard to do manually. Same is true for the captions, imagine that there are 100 images, you would not want to insert text boxes manually 100 times.
