Mint-X????
as the default for Mint?

I was wondering which version of Mint uses that default theme?
Linux Mint with
Cinnamon desktop?
MATE desktop?
KDE desktop?
Xfce desktop?

I run the MATE desktop with Ubuntu be default and I never heard of
Mint-X as a default desktop icon theme for MATE. I know that each
desktop environment I use, each has its own preferred icon and other
themes. I even tried L.Mint with MATE and its MATE desktop looked the
same as my Ubuntu with MATE system.

So where does Mint-X come into the picture?
Does it overwrite the defaults for the desktop and do its own thing on
Mint and not with every other distro that uses the same desktop
environments that Mint has to offer?

When did it become the default theme? and when did it become part of
all of the other d.e.'s and overwrite their defaults?

I love MATE, since I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 GNOME to 12.04 and
needed a d.e. that worked the same as 10.04's GNOME. I hate Unity. So
now if I choose Mint with MATE, I no longer get the default icon theme
that comes with MATE? or KDE? or Xfce?
