Full context of forum threads as always are available from our Nabble archive, so for this thread " Light Blue for Non-printing characters <http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Light-Blue-for-Non-printing-characters-tp4110478.html> " > Plus, as I explained before: > " - most of the time people work with dark on light, or light on dark > - fine tuning for special cases needs a per document or per paragraph > change > - that is impossible/impractical with the appearance setting > - so the easiest solution is say 60 or 50% grey > - full automatic solution needs much more work, but is only relevant in > relatively (very) few situations " > > , so I don't get you 'no gray' ;) Actually, in resolving fdo#68071 <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68071> , Mirek's proposed, and Tomaž implemented the RGB color #6abed3 (106:190:211) lifted from iWorks on OSX. At this point in the 4.3 release cycle, the color selected could still be changed. And Mirek has asked for that alternative. IMHO, the #6abed3 remains a viable choice (on both light or dark backgrounds), and so should not be "adjusted" until a more ambitious--auto selection--or expert configuration is implemented. But a move back to a mid-density gray would leave UI little better than the old default (of matching text color). As can be seen in: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=fb99a6b9958815eb1ad27179d252a379ce8b79fd the NON_PRINTING_CHARACTER_COLOR is now defined just once in /sw/source/core/inc/txtfrm.hxx; with one additional entry in inftxt.cxx for DrawTab. So a simple hack for anyone wishing to change the color of NPC and role their own. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Light-Blue-for-Non-printing-characters-tp4110478p4113261.html Sent from the Design mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
