Hi guys, Back at the conference, I talked to Cloph about the file management in LibreOffice Viewer for Android. Right now, the user is presented with the system's entire directory structure and it's up to her/him to find the right ODT files. This flies in the face of the mobile pattern of abstracting the file system structure from the user [1] and makes it hard for people to find their files (as they're generally not accustomed to the directory structure).
Cloph said that, if the design team agrees, he's willing to change it. Can we reach an agreement that LibreOffice Viewer should leave file management to dedicated file managers and show documents it can open up front? (The Google Docs apps, Microsoft's Office apps, WPS Office all use this document management model. Except for LibreOffice and dedicated file managers, I can't think of a mobile productivity app that doesn't.)
