I'm going to try and describe in more detail just
Frame 1 of the the previously suggested layout for
Dashboard below.

The triage summary status of the selected folder is
included in the mini-tool bar above the frame. The
first line of the frame is the headings of each of the
collumns beneath it. Clicking on the heading would
sort the email list in the frame according the heading
criteria.
Clicking on 'Date' heading sorts the list by time
received. Clicking it again sorts the list in reverse
order.
Clicking on 'To/From' heading sorts the list
alphabetically by Sender name. Clicking it again
sorts the list in reverse order.
Clicking on 'Subject' sorts the list alphabetically by
subject. Clicking it again sorts it in reverse order.
Clicking on 'Triage' heading sorts the list first
according first to Triage status, and then within each
status group, by time received. Previously, I had
suggested that the Now Box items would be on top of
the list, Later Box items next up, then Unfiled items,
then Done Box items. This order was to deter this
list sorting to be mis-used as default setting to
avoid the potential problem Mimi had mentioned, i.e.,
the inadvertant pushing of Now Box items as Later Box
items and the user inadvertantly 'living' within the
Unfiled section of the list on top.
However, another (perhaps better) option to deter this
potential misuse of the Chandler workflow may be to
remove all Unfiled items from the Triage-sorted list
view all together. Hence, when the user is ready to
take action on previously triaged items, they might
then resort the list according to triage status, and
this list would show Now items on top, Later items
next up, and then Done Box items last. With the
unfiled items not even appearing on this view, there
is zero chance of potential misuse of the intended
Chandler workflow.
Similar resorting headings could of course be designed
for the other two frames. For example, looking just
at Frame 2 in larger view, we might obtain the
following layout.
