Since I was out last week, this summary is a bit longer than usual... New Design Discussions: Priscilla posted a proposal for some minor changes to the collection sharing dialog - to make things a bit less confusing for the user. Some discussion continued around whether or not we need to have the sharing account label and whether or not this is meaningful information to the user. Specifically for the account label fields, we netted out with the following... + Collection name: ie: My Calendar + Sharing via: Cosmo Sharing Service OR URL ticket. Mimi forwarded a discussion to the list that had been taking place in bugzilla regarding a date/time picker widget in the detail view that Davor created back in November. There has been some discussion around how to make this accessible for users. Mimi sent out a list of questions about how people enter date/time information. Ashkan posted to the list with a summary of the usage data collection project he is working on. He follows with a list of questions about how best to collect this data. Mimi sent out a summary of the Chandler System target user group for our 1.0 products and services. In addition to describing the personas, she details out which high-level features these people will use. Mimi also posted a summary of all the usage scenarios we plan to support in the 1.0 timeframe and how these map back to specific target users. Bryan sent out a few more questions about the dashboard spec. Mimi responded... Priscilla posted an update on the Scooby 0.3 planning as well as some feedback on the teams attempt to use the Google collaboration spreadsheet for a planning session. Sheila sent out a summary of the chandler system email strategy for 1.0. Mimi followed-up Sheila's post with a list of email workflows we would target in the 1.0 timeframe. Ashkan sent out a proposed workflow for how users will share their usage data for instrumentation. He also followed up with an example of the type of data we will collect. In reponse to the email posts, Travis sent an update on his project to give Chandler the ability to act as an IMAP server. Mimi sent a summary of how items will be auto-triaged in the dashboard. Mimi made a few adjustments to the stamping storyboards based on a detailed review with Brian K. Mimi forwarded an email from Dan to the list. While going through the dashboard spec, Dan suggested using "Needs Action" instead "Needs Reply". Mimi further explained how this related to the communication column. Mimi sent a post to the list about a bug filed by Markku asking for an adjustable sidebar. Mimi pointed out that there were several issues we would have to address to make this work - mini cal layout, custom splitter for the sidebar and snap back behavior for the original width. In the short-term we have decided to not have the width adjustable but it's a agreed that mouse-over tooltips would be useful for users who have long collection names. Continued Threads: Discussions continued around the delete key. Reid also suggested that the Delete key remove items from the current collection unless it's the All collection in which case the item would be deleted. Other discussions: Ted sent a link to some of Merlin's (43 Folders) thoughts on maximizing use of iCal. Mimi responded. pointing out that the workflows he described correspond closely to how stamping and clusters should work. Lisa sent an FYI to the list that some of the weekly meetings in the office calendar were floating instead of PST. Bear sent a note about a recently installed plugin to help reduce the wiki spam. Heikki sent a post to an article on how researchers are reinventing the email client. |
