The click in step 3 ends the edit operation in the calendar but doesn't
move the focus from the calendar to the sidebar (which should be evident
by the color of the active selection). When you don't have an active
edit box in the calendar clicking in the sidebar moves the selection.

If under those circumstances the collection isn't deleted, how are you
supposed to delete collections?
