The design list was pretty quiet last week but there were a few conversations to summarize...

New Threads:

Heikki sent out a proposal for some menu changes. He suggested getting rid of some of the show/hide view options ie:sidebar, status bar. He also suggested a default location for extension parcels to add their menu items. Something like a Tools menu. Philippe pointed out that we have a number of bugs logged currently for changing various menu items. Sheila mentioned that we are revisiting all the menus before Beta so we should just add these items to the list.

Mimi forwarded a email to the design list responding to a question by Matt about whether or not the Web UI lozenges have to be the same as the new Chandler lozenges (colors). Since the web client is not targeting Chandler users viewing their calendars with the web ui, we do not have to have all the same colors and can perhaps go with a subset only.

Jared sent out a proposal that we change cosmo-demo.osafoundation.org to osaf.us which is a much better url. This will be in place temporarily until we have all the Beta branding details worked out. Everyone was in agreement with this proposal.

Continued Discussions:

The conversation continued around Quick Item Entry regarding the discoverability of the feature and the drop-down. Pieter pointed out that Google Calendar has a similar command line interface.

Lisa responded to the thread on Suggestions on Quick Item Entry in the Search bar. She talks about how she replaced the search entry field in FireFox with YubNub web command line and what commands she uses to search for various information.
